Podcast No. 7 - SubSid - V.I.P Crew Mix
As we may have accustomed you, Drums.ro Podcasts have featured diverse blends of electronic music, not rarely bringing different styles together to a distinct sound through the artists that starred them.
The current one takes us down to the souther hemisphere to sunny, hot, fiesta busy Brasil.
With more purpose than being just dance music, with a more jazzy and intelligent side to it, with a decent amount of spiced up bass,SubSid brings us Drums.ro Podcast no. 7

Stefan: Please tell us your full name.
SubSid: My name is Bruno H. Rezende de Souza
Stefan: Tell us about your influences and your main sources of inspiration.
SubSid: This is a difficult question to answer. In drum'n'bass I have various influences like Calibre, Electrosoul System, Random Movement, Marky, Furney, Zyon Base, all good liquid stuff. But in order to make my tunes I just try to listen to some soul & jazz, chill out & lounge, experimental tunes & of course Hip Hop stuff; that\'s where I take my samples from.
Stefan: How did you come across Drum'n'Bass?
SubSid: To tell you the truth, my friend introduced me to dnb in 2005, but first I didn't like it. After some time I began to enjoy some of the tunes, listening to Marky playing in the radio stations. After that I decided to start producing, and that's what I'm trying to do to this day.
Stefan: What do you use for making music? (software/hardware)
SubSid: That's "The Question". I always say that what really makes the music is your mind, your creativity, independent of the software.
The software is only a tool. But I use Fruity Loops 8 to make my tunes and some collabs with L-Side, Dans, dbAudio & dRamatic. I also use Cubase 4 to collaborate with Linyus and I try to use Reason 4, but I’m only studying that software at the moment.
Stefan: Please take us through the process of making a tune.
SubSid: To make a tune I just search for a nice sample (melody) and start making the drum track. Then I put some effects in to complete the music. So I try some bassline notes out and some synths (if needed). After that I start mixing the elements and pre-mastering the track.
Stefan: What makes SubSid special? Why should we buy your music? 
SubSid: Hahaha I'm not special, I'm just a young producer making some decent liquid drum'n' bass tunes. You should buy my music if you like liquid and brazilian vibes, and most important of all - if you want to support a young up-and-coming producer like myself, hehe.
